Privacy Policy
Effective for the DiyaChem mobile application, website, and related services operated by DiyaChem Industrials (“DiyaChem”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

To request deletion of your DiyaChem account and associated personal data:
- Email support@diyanam.com from the phone number or email linked to your account, with subject line “Account deletion request”.
- Include your full name and the phone number used to sign in so we can verify the request.
- We will confirm receipt and delete or de-identify account profile data (name, phone, optional email, device tokens) within 30 days.
What is deleted: account credentials and profile fields, device push tokens, and access to messaging/listings tied to your account.
What may be retained: limited commercial records (orders, quotes, dispute/audit logs) and anonymized analytics for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and accounting, for as long as required by law or dispute handling.
You may also request deletion of specific data (without closing the account) by emailing the same address and describing what you want removed.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you use DiyaChem to browse trade lanes, publish listings or buy requests, message other users, request quotations, manage orders/wallet activity, contact support, or otherwise interact with our Service.
By creating an account or using DiyaChem, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
DiyaChem is a B2B marketplace platform focused on chemicals, packaging, machinery, services, and related industrial products. The Service connects buyers and sellers so they can discover products, post requests, exchange messages, request or provide quotations, and coordinate commercial activity.
Controller / operator: DiyaChem Industrials
Country of primary operations: Ethiopia
Support contact: support@diyanam.com
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to personal data processed through:
- The DiyaChem Android/iOS/web application
- Our API and backend systems
- The DiyaChem admin panel used to moderate content and support users
- Customer support channels linked from the app (email, phone, Telegram/WhatsApp when configured)
It does not apply to third-party websites, payment gateways, messaging apps, or services that you open outside DiyaChem, even if linked from the app. Those services have their own privacy terms.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account details: full name, phone number, password, optional company name, optional email, profile avatar/settings
- Marketplace content: product listings, buy requests, descriptions, quantities, locations/origins, category selections, notes, images/files you upload
- Commercial communications: chat messages, quotation requests/offers, support tickets, and related attachments or metadata
- Order/wallet information you submit: shipping addresses, payment method selections, top-up or checkout details when payment features are enabled
- Safety and account actions: blocked users, reports, account deletion requests
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device type/OS, app version, language settings, approximate network information, crash/diagnostic logs
- Usage data: pages/screens viewed, feature interactions, search/filter actions, timestamps, and similar analytics needed to operate and improve the Service
- Authentication data: session/token identifiers used to keep you signed in securely

3.3 Information from other users or admin actions
- Messages, quotes, or inquiries sent to you by other users
- Moderation decisions, verification status, and support notes recorded by authorized DiyaChem staff
- Public listing/request information posted by other users that may include business-related details they choose to share
4. How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and secure access
- Operate marketplace features: catalogs, trade lanes, listings, requests, messaging, quotations, orders, notifications, and support
- Show your content to relevant users and allow business communication about products/requests
- Moderate listings, detect fraud/abuse, enforce terms, and protect platform integrity
- Send service notifications (in-app and, if enabled, push), such as new messages, quote updates, order status, or admin announcements
- Improve reliability, performance, UX, and customer support
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
- Process payments/wallet activity through configured payment providers when those features are live
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use marketplace chat content for advertising to third parties.
5. Legal bases / justification for processing
Depending on applicable law and the context, we process data because it is necessary to:
- Perform our contract with you (provide the marketplace Service you requested)
- Pursue legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and customer support, balanced against your rights
- Comply with legal duties
- Obtain and rely on your consent where required (for example optional marketing communications or certain device permissions)
6. How marketplace sharing works
DiyaChem is designed for business discovery and negotiation. Some information is visible to other users by design:
- Public or authenticated users may see approved product listings, active buy requests, category/trade-lane information, supplier display names, and related commercial details you publish
- When you message or quote another user, that counterparty can see the content you send and basic profile identifiers needed for the conversation
- DiyaChem staff with authorized admin access may review content for moderation, dispute handling, safety, or support
Do not post sensitive personal data, bank secrets, or confidential trade secrets in public listing/request fields. Use private messaging carefully and only share what you are comfortable disclosing for a business transaction.
7. Payments and financial data
If payment, checkout, or wallet top-up features are enabled, payment processing is performed by a third-party payment provider you select/configure (for example Chapa, telebirr, Stripe, or another gateway).
Card numbers, mobile-money credentials, and similar sensitive payment secrets are generally handled by the payment provider’s systems under their privacy/security policies. DiyaChem may receive limited transaction metadata such as amount, status, reference IDs, payer identity needed for reconciliation, and wallet ledger entries.
8. Push notifications and communications
DiyaChem already provides an in-app notification inbox. Separately, “push notifications” mean alerts delivered by your phone/browser even when the app is closed (for example: “New message from a supplier”).
If push is enabled, we may store a device push token and use it to send transactional alerts. You can usually control system-level notification permissions in your device settings. Turning off push does not delete your account or stop in-app notifications.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
On web surfaces (including admin tools), we may use cookies or local storage for authentication, session security, preference storage, and basic analytics. Mobile apps use local secure storage for tokens and preferences instead of browser cookies.
10. How we share information
We may share personal data with:
- Other DiyaChem users, to the extent needed for marketplace interactions you initiate or content you publish
- Service providers who help us host, store, send messages/emails/SMS, process payments, analyze crashes, or provide customer support, under confidentiality and processing terms
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting) when needed
- Authorities or claimants when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the platform
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, subject to continued protection commitments
11. International transfers and hosting
Your data may be stored and processed on servers in Ethiopia and/or other countries where our hosting or service providers operate. Where data is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable requirements.
12. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including:
- Account and profile data: while your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security, disputes, and legal compliance
- Listings, requests, quotes, messages, and order records: for the life of the commercial record and any retention period required for audit/dispute handling
- Support tickets and moderation logs: for support quality and safety investigations
- Backups: for a limited technical retention window
When you delete your account, we disable access and de-identify or anonymize identifiers where practical. Some records may remain where we must keep them for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute reasons.
13. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted transport (where HTTPS is enabled), hashed passwords, and staff permission controls on the admin panel.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
14. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile information
- Request deletion of your account/data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Request a copy of data you provided in a portable format where applicable
You can usually update profile details in the app, manage blocked users, and submit support requests. For deletion or broader privacy requests, contact support using the channels listed in the app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
15. Children’s privacy
DiyaChem is intended for business users and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
16. Third-party links and AI features
The Service may include links to third-party tools (Telegram, WhatsApp, email, payment pages) and optional AI companion features powered by external model providers (for example OpenRouter). When you use those features, relevant prompts/content may be processed by those providers according to their terms. Do not submit secrets or highly sensitive personal data into AI chat.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by other reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
